Philosophy
HIA Elite Hockey Training is focused on creating a highly competitive environment for our players, which in turn, results in developing highly competitive athletes. Majority of hockey comes down to winning battles and out competing your opponents, we believe training should reciprocate that fact.
At HIA we work on a lot of battle/compete drills along with a mix of elite level edge work, puck control and passing skills. We work mostly with elite level AAA athletes

Base
HIA is currently based in Toronto and Shenzhen, China with goals to expand internationally into the US, Europe, Russia and Asia.
Coaching
Patrick Farrugia is the Founder and Head Instructor at HIA. He has a wide range of experience having worked with tykes to professionals with coaching experience in multiple different countries around the world. Patrick was born and raised in Toronto and grew up playing in the GTHL AAA. He started coaching at George Bell, his local rink where he coincidentally also started playing hockey at the age of six.
Two years into coaching, Patrick moved overseas and spent 5 years coaching abroad. Most of his time was spent in China, coaching in multiple different cities within the country and working with some of the most reputable clubs such as The Kunlun Redstar. Patrick also has experience coaching in Hong Kong, Russia, Thailand and Spain where he ran skills camps, and coached in tournaments.
